What makes a person great? Is it being famous, influential, good at sports or wealthy? The most influential and controversial human figure is Jesus Christ. Jesus said "whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,". Jesus defined greatness as being a servant to others. He taught to love your enemies. And that is exactly what Jesus did when He was on earth. He loved the unlovable and showed mercy to all, even His enemies.

You possibly may think you are morally great and headed to heaven because you think you are a good person. But Jesus said " Only God is good." The Bible says in regards to people that "none is good". When you let God's law (10 Commandments) judge your life everyone is found guilty. How many lies have you told? Ever stolen? Have you looked with sexual lust? The Bible says “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” and " The wages of sin is death." Because everyone has disobeyed God's laws, everyone deserves punishment. And guilty sinners will end up in God's prison called hell. God does NOT want that for you!

 

 

 

 

 

The Greatest of all Time

 

 

 

 

 

Jesus was great because He humbled himself and served sinners by dying for them. "the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Jesus was not just a man. He is God who took on human form. He entered time/space 2000 years ago to save us sinners from being punished in our place as our substitute. “God demonstrates his own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Love is what motivated Jesus to save us, free us and forgive us of all our sins. Three days later he resurrected from the dead, defeating death proving that He is truly God. Jesus is the greatest of all time! 

 

 

 

 

 

How to become Great:

 

 

 

 

 

Jesus bought all of humanity the free gift of eternal life through His sacrificial death. You can’t earn this gift by trying to be a “better” person. The free gift of eternal life is free for you but paid for at Christ’s expense. Here what you must do to have eternal life becoming born again:

 

 

 

1. Repent by changing your mind about your sin. Admit that you are guilty and have offended a Holy God. Break up with your sin by leaving it behind.

 

 

 

2. Trust only in Jesus to save, forgive and free you from sin. No good works can do that. You can only be saved by God’s grace through your faith in Him. 

 

 

 

You repent and believe by praying to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior! “ if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Start reading your Bible and attend a Bible teaching church to grow in your new relationship with God!
