Many American's are very patriotic and respect our militaries and country. The Land of the free and the home of the brave. However, many conservative American's falsely believe they are Christian because they simple live in a Christian nation or are because they are republican. This "Freedom isn't Free" tract spells out the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made so that we can spiritually be free from sin and free to love Christ. This tract could be very useful at patriotic events such as 4th of July Parades, Memorial day and Veterans Day gatherings. Here is the tract spelled out in full:
Freedom Isn’t Free
America is the greatest nation on earth. It is far from perfect but the freedom’s it possesses is not like anywhere else. However, becoming a free nation didn’t come without a great cost and sacrifice. Many a men spilled their blood on the battlefield to give American’s the liberties it so deeply appreciates. The Freedom we enjoy wasn’t free; it came with a high price. The main reason America is the greatest nation is because it was originally founded on God and the Bible. And so too, the story of the Bible explains a spiritual freedom every person can have that also came with a great cost of someone’s life.
Prisoners of War
Every human being God created has value and worth. However, all of humanity has been taken captive by sin (disobedience to God’s Law). God has given us his moral law called the 10 commandments. Everyone has lied, stolen, coveted, and sexually lusted (Matt. 5:28) at some point in their life. “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Everyone has broken God’s laws and are guilty. No one is good enough to go to heaven when they die. “None is good, not even one”. And just like America’s judicial system that is meant to punish law breakers, so too God is just to punish sinners who violate his Laws. And all sinners who don’t get right with God will end up in his prison called hell. A horrible place of separation and eternal torment. “The wages of sin is death”. But there is good news…
Sacrifice
Being American doesn’t mean you are true Christian. You may have Christian values and believe in God but that still doesn’t mean you are born again. Being a Christian is not something you do, it’s who you are. Nobody is born a Christian, which is why you must spiritually become born again. Jesus said, “Unless you are born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God.” Two thousand years ago God sent His only Son Jesus on a rescue mission to save us from our sins. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” “God showed his love for us in this that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus the son of God came to earth to take our punishment of sin even though He was perfect. He died a horrible death of Roman crucifixion being our substitute. He was sinless and sacrificed Himself to free and forgive us our sins. Jesus paid the highest price by shedding His blood to give us true freedom in our hearts. He resurrected from the dead three days later proving He is God. Jesus said, “The truth will set you free… whom the Son has set free, is free indeed.” Here is what you need to do…
Free at Last!
Eternal life is a free gift that Jesus bought us with His life’s blood. “The free gift of God is eternal life thought Jesus Christ”. Here is what you need to do to have a relationship with God and go to heaven when you die:
1) Repent (change your mind) of your sins by confessing them to God as wrong. Admit that you are not a good person and ask for His forgiveness. Leave your sins behind you.
2) Trust in Jesus as the ONLY one who can save you from hell, free and forgive you from all sin. Pray (talk to God) by receiving Him as your Lord and Savior. “Confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved.”
Now that you have received Jesus, go tell other’s the good news of how they can know Jesus. Start attending a Bible teaching church to grow in your new relationship with God.
