Many people love animals. If you like to go on walks or visit local parks you most likely will come across people walking their dogs. This tract is great to use at parks, zoo’s and for any animal lover who may be curious if pets go to heaven. This tract is meant to spark initial interest about if their pet will go to heaven. But it transitions nicely to ask “Will you go to heaven when you die?”. Then it clearly lays about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Do Pets Go to Heaven?
If you are a pet owner, it's most likely you have a relationship with your animal. Dogs are known as man's best friend. Cats, birds, and horses can be amazing companions that feel like part of your family. But the fact remains that everything has an expiration date. People, animals and plants all end up dying. Do pets go to heaven? The Bible talks about animals being in heaven. Isaiah 11:6 says that in heaven “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat”. The Bible does say animals are in heaven but it is silent about if pets are in heaven. A more serious question is will you go to heaven when you die? God wants you to go to heaven.
The Big Fall
From the beginning of time, the first people who ever lived (Adam/Eve) had a close relationship with God and with animals. But they disobeyed God. And their disobedience caused a major shift in how the world operates. Everything now is going to die as a consequence of Adam’s sin. Some plants started to grow thorns and become poisonous. Some animals started to eat others. Human beings now have a sinful (disobedient) nature that desires to do wrong. God has a standard of right and wrong: his 10 commandments (moral laws). How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen (value is irrelevant)? Have you ever lusted sexually with your eyes? Romans 3 says “There is none righteous…no one does good…all have sinned…”. We all in different ways have disobeyed God’s laws and therefore deserve justice. “The wages of sin is death…”. No one is good enough to get into heaven because we are guilty. The payment we deserve for our disobedience to God is death. Not just physical death but eternal. If you die in your sins without receiving God’s pardon, you will end up in hell (God’s prison) forever. But God does NOT want you to go there.
The Big Rescue
God sees all of humanity drowning in their sins and yet He offered THE life saver (Jesus) to rescue you from hell. God is love and wants a relationship with you. ”For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus, the son of God, came to this earth 2000 years ago and took your death penalty of sin by shedding His blood. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” He died of Roman crucifixion on a cross suffering as your substitute by dying in your place because of love. He rose from the dead 3 days later, defeating death. He purchased the free gift of eternal life (heaven) for you through His sacrifice. “The free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.”
Receive the Gift
Gifts are not earned but given freely. But gifts must be received in order to be experienced. To receive eternal life you must first humble yourself and open up your heart to God by repenting (breaking up) with your sins. Confess them as wrong and forsake them. And you must trust in Jesus alone as your savior by believing in Him. “to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”. Pray right now a prayer of brokenness and ask God to rescue you and save you from your sins by believing in Jesus. He will freely give you eternal life and adopt you as His child. “if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” Start reading your Bible to grow in your new relationship with God!
